Psalm Privacy Policy

Psalm was built to know as little about you as possible. This policy explains what the app does, and mostly what it doesn't do, with your information.

Effective 18 September 2026

The short version

  • No accounts, no ads, no advertising trackers, no profiling. Nothing about you is ever sold or shared for marketing.
  • The Bible and every day's readings are inside the app. Psalm does not fetch Scripture from the internet.
  • Once a day, Psalm sends one anonymous request so we can count how many people use it. It is described in full below.
  • One third party helps us count subscriptions. It is named below, and it never learns your name or email address.
  • We never use anything you do in Psalm to train any AI model.

What stays on your device

What you read, the verses you save, your streak, your church, your colours and your notification times are kept on your iPhone and are never sent to us.

The daily count

Once a day, the app or one of its widgets sends a single request to our server. It says:

  • which church you picked in Psalm (Catholic, Orthodox New Calendar, Orthodox Old Calendar, other), or that you haven't picked one,
  • which Psalm widgets are on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, and
  • the app's version and your iOS version.

Like any internet request, it arrives with your IP address, from which our hosting provider (Supabase) notes the country. The request carries no name, no account and no identifier for you or your device, and we store none of it ourselves: it exists only in our hosting provider's standard request logs, which are deleted after a short time. We use it only to count how many people use Psalm each day, and which churches and widgets they use. It is never linked to you and never used for advertising or tracking.

Subscriptions

Psalm Premium is billed by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your payment details, and whether you have Premium is decided on your device from Apple's own record of what you bought, not by any server of ours.

To know how many people subscribe, we report completed purchases to RevenueCat, a subscription-analytics provider. RevenueCat receives the purchase record Apple issued (which plan, when, whether it is still active, and the country of your Apple Account) and a random identifier for your installation of the app. It is never given your name, your email address or your payment details.

None of this decides what you can read. Every word of Scripture in Psalm is free, and always will be.

Notifications

Verse notifications are scheduled on your device and do not pass through our servers.

Children

Psalm does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will appear at this address with a new effective date.
